In most cases, very little. Original Medicare classifies a walk-in tub as a home modification rather than durable medical equipment, so standard Part A and Part B benefits usually don't apply. Some Medicare Advantage plans offer supplemental benefits that might help, but coverage varies plan to plan — the number on your card is the best place to check. We're glad to help pull together whatever documentation a plan requests, though we can't promise what gets approved.

The biggest one is timing — you sit inside while the tub fills and drains, so a bath means waiting through both. It's also a fixed installation, not something you take with you if you move, and it typically uses more water per use than a standalone shower would. Most of our customers decide that tradeoff is worth it once the alternative is skipping baths altogether.
